About

The Steven Walter Boutique Op Shop opened in Katoomba in 2012, and is named after Steven Walter, a young man who battled cancer for eight years, before passing away aged just 19 in 2000. The Op Shop is operated by Helen and John Robertson, with the assistance of part-time managers Paula and Sharon, as well as a host of volunteers, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the remarkable staff and volunteers at the Steven Walter Boutique Op Shop who have achieved amazing results over the past five years. “There is an absolute treasure trove of items for sale, and thanks to the generosity of the many volunteers, all funds raised by the shop are donated to childhood cancer research, which to date is more than $180,000” said Susan Walter, CEO of Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation. “We are absolutely honoured that Helen and John chose to name the Op Shop after Steven. He would be amazed at what has been achieved in his honour and thrilled that such a positive difference is being made,” said Susan. The Steven Walter Boutique Op Shop provides a warm, inviting place for locals and visitors to Katoomba to find low cost everyday items of clothing, homewares, books and music, as well as a unique collection of pre-loved and antique items.
