About

An exceptional opportunity exists to acquire this award-winning garden estate, created as a unique sanctuary in an exclusive setting in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains. This offering of 4.5 acres over four titles is located adjacent to the National Park with its world-class Wentworth Falls and bushwalking trails. The estate encompasses magnificent temperate climate gardens initiated almost 50 years ago by Australian entertainer Reg Livermore. He named the property Pirramimma, an Indigenous word for the moon and stars. With input from local plant nursery owners John and Jill Gaibor, Livermore gave the garden its lake, abundant plantings and a theme of spring blossoms and autumn foliage. A new custodian bought Pirramimma in 2006, acquired adjoining properties and engaged Landscape Architect Craig Burton to enhance the visual and spatial structure of the expanded estate. New trees were planted, senescent trees were removed, canopies were opened and understoreys were provided with solar access. Then followed the creation of significant vistas, specialist garden areas, a water rill, an orchard, a gully of misted ferns, an amphitheatre, sculpture nooks, terraces, seating, walks and sandstone pathways. To establish a balanced and stimulating landscape, an additional planting composition created contrasts between: exotic and native vegetation, foliage and flowers, evergreen and deciduous, light and dark tones, water-forms and landforms and formal and informal arrangements. The estate offers plentiful water features and bespoke built features, including a light-filled guest studio with soaring ceilings, feature-glass windows and outdoor Japanese bath. An award-winning Japanese-inspired garden pavilion (tea house) overlooks the private lake and jetty. The Wisteria Terrace and Elm Lawn are ideal for social gatherings while the Meditation Circle and Relic Garden encourage quiet contemplation.
